摘要 <p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inspection apparatus of an engine having a motor-driven valve timing control mechanism that allows accurate detection of valve timing to be performed with no influence of an outside error factor. <P>SOLUTION: A valve timing inspection apparatus for an engine having a motor-driven valve timing control mechanism comprises: an intake air measurement unit 4 and an exhaust air measurement unit 5 which are connected to each of ports 31 and 40 and measure an intake air volume or an exhaust air volume inside each port; a crank angle sensor 61; an outside motor 6 for driving a crankshaft 25 by rotation; and a controller 7 for determining an opening timing and a closing timing in respective valves 33 and 43, when the crankshaft 25 is driven by the outside motor 6, based on relation between the air volumes measured by the intake air measurement unit 4 and the exhaust air measurement unit 5 and a crank angle detected by the crank angle sensor 61. When valve timing is determined in the motor-driven valve timing control mechanism, a protrusion at a camshaft 38 side is made to abut against a protruding part on a case main body of the motor-driven valve timing control mechanism to fixedly hold a rotation phase in valve timing with respect to the crankshaft 25. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT</p>
