The method involves providing a control device or server (20) having access to a number of mobile communication terminals (21) for certain users. An alarm is emitted if locking of a cycle (1) is not carried out at the end of a given time after detection of arrival of the cycle at a locking station (7). The emitted alarm is provided with a radio communication telephone message that is emitted towards the mobile communication terminals of the users, when the control device has access to the mobile communication terminals of the users. An independent claim is also included for a system for automatic provision of cycles.
