摘要 <p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve assembling works for cases themselves in a power transmission device in which a case is divided along an axis center of a gear by restricting an expansion of a bearing or a shim for supporting gears assembled to one case.SOLUTION: This invention relates to a final speed reducer 1 comprising a ring gear 4, a differential case 5 rotated integral with the ring gear 4, and bearings 6, 6 for supporting the differential case 5 at both axial ends, shims 7, 7 for preloading the outer surfaces of the bearings 6, 6, and two-divided cases with surfaces in parallel with a center of axis O of the ring gear 4 being applied as two divided surfaces 23, 24. The case is divided by the divided surfaces 23, 24 offset from the center of axis O within a range of an outer diameter of the bearing 6 into a first case 21 including the center of axis O and a second case 22 not including the center of axis O, shim pressing wall surfaces 30, 31 of the first case 21 are made larger in an area than shim pressing wall surfaces 37, 38 of the second case 22 in regard to the shim pressing wall surface abutted against the outer surface of the shim 7.</p>
