<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a degradation diagnosis tool for an external gap type arrester which can accurately and safely measure a degradation state of the external gap type arrester in a hot-line state, and is also lightweight and excellent in operability. <P>SOLUTION: The degradation diagnosis tool measures the degradation state of the external gap type arrester which is attached to an insulator device supporting insulation of a transmission line. A hot-line tool 10 with insulation is provided with a measuring unit 11 at its end, and a base part of the hot-line tool 10 is provided with an operation unit 12 which operates the measuring unit by wireless communication means. The measuring unit 11 comprises detection terminals 13 which contact both ends of the external gap type arrester, a power supply unit 14 which applies a high frequency voltage to the detection terminals, and a detection unit 15 which detects an electric current flowing between the detection terminals. Impedance between the detection terminals is reduced to equal to or less than 100 kΩand an induced voltage for a lightning conducting element unit of the external gap type arrester 1 against a system voltage is reduced to an ignorable value, so that measurement can be performed. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT</p> |
