MID-LONG TERM COOLING METHOD AND SYSTEM FOR CONTAINMENT AND SPENT FUEL POOL IN NUCLEAR POWER PLANT AFTER OCCURRING ACCIDENT

A mid-long term cooling method and system for a containment and a spent fuel pool in a nuclear power plant after occurring an accident. The cooling method comprises discharging the waste heat from the heat exchangers of a nuclear island upstream user group through the mid-long term cooling system consisted of a middle cooling loop and a terminal cooling loop to the atmosphere, and all of the electrical appliances of the middle cooling loop and the terminal cooling loop adopt an individual backup power supply. The cooling method and system can come into operation when an ultimate heat sink failure arises in the nuclear power plant, so as to discharge the waste heat from a reactor core and the spent fuel pool to the environment safely and effectively.
