PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electrochemical apparatus which has a simple configuration and utilizes effectively heat energy generated in the apparatus.SOLUTION: An electrochemical apparatus 10 includes an electrochemical cell 15 which is arranged in a reaction vessel 11 and provided with a hydrogen electrode 13 and an oxygen electrode 14, formed in a solid oxide electrolyte 12, gas supply lines 17 (17a, 17b) which supply a supply gas causing a water vapor electrolysis reaction or a fuel cell reaction in the electrochemical cell 15 to the hydrogen electrode 13 and the oxygen electrode 14, respectively, and a first heat exchange part 18 which is provided within the reaction vessel 11 and transfers heat energy generated by the water vapor electrolysis reaction or the fuel cell reaction to the gas supply line 17 allowing the supply gas to flow through.
