PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To substantially improve adiabaticity and lightening by forming a porous structure having a porosity higher than 70% in an SiC sintered body and enable easy and reliable production of such a porous SiC sintered body.SOLUTION: In a porous SiC sintered body, there are cell parts 2 which are hollow and spherical and form closed pores 6, and matrix parts 3 holding adjacent cell parts 2 between them; the cell parts 2 and the matrix parts 3 are integrated by SiC through sintering; and pores 5 are formed among the cell parts 2, among the matrix parts and among the matrix parts 3 and the cell parts. |
