PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a steering device that is enhanced in strength while reducing weight of a housing for a steering gear. ! SOLUTION: A steering device has a cylindrical rack storing part 12 for storing a rack shaft and a cylindrical pinion storing part 13 that is connected to the rack storing part 12 and stores a pinion shaft 7 to be engaged with the rack shaft; and comprises a housing 100 which has: a first reinforcing part 24L that is extended in an approximately opposite direction against resultant force of force generated in an opposite direction of a first direction when the rack shaft is moved in the first direction and force generated by engagement of the rack shaft with the pinon shaft 7; and a second reinforcing part 24R that is extended in an approximately opposite direction against resultant force of force generated in the opposite direction of a second direction when the rack shaft is moved in the second direction opposite to the first direction and force generated by engagement |
