<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide four polypeptides named PRT5, PRT6, PRT7 and PRT8, nucleic acids encoding them, compositions comprising these proteins, as well as usage of antibodies that specifically recognize these polypeptides in treatment and diagnosis.SOLUTION: The invention provides four polypeptides named PRT5, PRT6, PRT7 and PRT8, being chemokine-like secreted proteins. These proteins are characterized in that PRT5 and PRT8 are involved in glucose metabolism, PRT6 is involved in androgen regulation, while PRT7 correlates with cancer. These proteins are used for treatment of disorders selected from diabetes, metabolic syndrome, obesity, endocrine disorders and muscle disorders.</p> |
