PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To allow for detection of problems in the rotation sensor of a motor used for estimating the current speed.SOLUTION: A motor drive controller has (A) a measurement unit for receiving a periodic signal, that can be divided into a plurality of phases depending on the rotational phase of a motor, from the rotation sensor of the motor, and measuring the time of each of the plurality of phases, and (B) a determination unit for comparing the mean time of one phase obtained from the time of one period of a signal with the mean or weighted mean of the time of some of the plurality of phases, and the time of a corresponding phase of the signal one period before the some phase, by using the time of each of the plurality of phases measured by the measurement unit, and outputting an error of the rotation sensor when predetermined conditions are satisfied. |
