The present invention relates to a user terminal for detecting a forgery of an application program by using signature information and a method for detecting a forgery using the same. The user terminal according to one embodiment of the present invention includes: a signature information extracting unit for extracting signature information of an application program installed in the user terminal at a platform level when the application program is installed; a communications unit for when running the application program, transmitting the user terminal information and the application program information to an authentication server at a platform level and thereby receiving authentic signature information of the application program from the authentication server or receiving authentic signature information of the application program from an peripheral device pairing with the user terminal; and a forgery determining unit for comparing authentic signature information received at a platform level from the authentic server or the peripheral device and the extracted signature information and thereby determining whether the application program is forged. According to the present invention as described above, it is possible to protect a user terminal from a forged application program by using the user terminal capable of detecting a forgery of an application program using signature information, and the method for detecting falsification. In addition, it is possible to detect a forgery of an application program at a platform level, and thereby it is possible to overcome limitations in the method for detecting a forgery at an application program level, capable of bypass and avoidance.
