<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a shock absorber that can control damping force characteristics in more detail. <P>SOLUTION: The shock absorber includes: fist passages 30a, 30b and second passages 110, 111, through which a working fluid flows out from one of chambers 12, 13 in a cylinder 10, which is caused by the movement of a piston 11; damping valves 45a, 45b provided in the fist passages 30a, 30b and controlling the flow of the working fluid that is caused by the sliding movement of the piston 11, to generate damping force; and a free piston 57 provided in the second passages 110, 111 and partitioning the second passages 110, 111 into an upstream side and a downstream side. In the shock absorber, a passage area variable mechanism 311 that can regulate a passage area of the second passage 110 is provided in the middle of the second passage 110. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT</p> |
