<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To shorten a warmup time while avoiding the enlargement of an apparatus. <P>SOLUTION: This printing apparatus 1 includes a printing unit 3 having an ink jet head 32 for discharging ink on a print medium, a maintenance mechanism unit 71 having a cleaning unit 81 for cleaning the ink jet head 32 and a heating unit 82 for generating heat, a drive unit for moving the maintenance mechanism unit 71 between a first position at which the ink jet head 32 can be cleaned and a second position evacuated from the ink jet head 32, and a control unit 9 for controlling the drive unit and the heating unit 82 so that the maintenance mechanism unit 71 is arranged at the first position to heat the ink jet head 32 during the warmup of the print unit 3. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT</p> |
