<p>PURPOSE:To enable a jammed sheet to be easily pulled out by causing a friction body to retreat from a sheet transfer passage via a separation means while the roller shaft of a feed roller being pulled toward a worker, upon occurrence of a jam, and moving a stopper plate upward with the separation means to such a level as not protruding to the sheet transfer passage. CONSTITUTION:When sheets are jammed in a manual sheet feed passage 41 between a manual feed tray 40 and a resist roller 33, the front cabinet of a copying machine is opened and a roller shaft 56 is pulled toward an operator. As a result, the projection of the pressure releasing plate of a separation means 80 loosely coupled to the roller shaft 56 enters space between a friction body 42 and a lower sheet guide 47, thereby pressing down the friction body 42. Also, a stopper plate 43 is made to cause the nutation of the first push plate 116 via the first link arm 117 due to the shift of the first holder 115 of the means 80 loosely coupled to the roller shaft 56 toward the operator. The stopper plate 43 is thereby caused to retreat from the passage 41 via a manual feed arm 71. In this state, the roller shaft 56 is rotated with a knob, and the jammed sheets are thereby discharged to the sheet feed side of the copying machine.</p> |
