PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus capable of achieving cost reduction.SOLUTION: An image forming apparatus 1 includes a container storage part 201 which stores a waste toner recovery container 100 for recovering waste toner generated inside the image forming apparatus 1 in a previously set storage position, a coil spring 401 which energizes the recovery container 100 stored in the storage position of the container storage part 201, a door member 2A which forms a part of the housing 2 of the image forming apparatus 1 and can be opened and closed between an opening attitude for opening the inside of the container storage part 201 and a closing attitude for closing the inside of the container storage part 201, a detection sensor 900 which is provided in the container storage part 201 and detects the presence or absence of a previously set detection object in the recovery container 100 in the storage position, and an abnormality determination processing part 801 which determines the presence or absence of the occurrence of abnormality including the full state of the waste toner in the recovery container 100 and a state where the recovery container 100 is not stored in the container storage part 201 on the basis of the output signal of the detection sensor 900. |
