PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide compositions, pharmaceuticals, and/or foods having an effect for preventing and improving a cognitive function, particularly Alzheimer type dementia.SOLUTION: The invention provides pharmaceuticals and/or foods containing humulones, ingredients in Humulus lupulus, which have an effect for improving a cognitive function by increasing dopamine production, or isohumulones comprised in isomerized Humulus lupulus extract. This effect is also enhanced by using in combination with an acetylcholinesterase inhibitor.
