PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of manufacturing a measuring instrument including light guide bodies disposed on outer circumferential positions on respective display surfaces, capable of preventing the appearance of the opening portions of a facing plate from being disturbed.SOLUTION: Projecting portions of ring-shaped light guide bodies are disposed on outer circumferential positions on meter display areas (display surfaces) of number plates, respectively. A facing plate 3 is disposed to surround the meter display areas and the projecting portions. Decoration rings 33 painted with silver or painted with glossy color that looks as if the ring 33 is plated are formed along opening portions of the facing plate 3, respectively. In the process of assembling a measuring instrument 1, cylindrical insertion assistance jigs 9 are disposed to cover the meter display areas and areas of the convex portions after disposing the light guide bodies including the projecting portions on the respective number plates. In a state of disposing the insertion assistance jigs 9, the facing plate 3 is assembled between the opening portions of the facing plate 3 through the light guide bodies (convex portions) separated from each other by the insertion assistance jigs 9. The insertion assistance jigs 9 are then detached. |
