Provided is an amorphous silicon which involves only one combustion process to produce, which does not include tar, crystalline material, pesticide residue or carcinogens, and which is porous and water-soluble and is used in foods, drugs, cosmetics and feed; also provided are a production method and device thereof. This method of producing amorphous silicon is characterized by producing an amorphous silicon that does not include tar, crystalline material, pesticide residue or carcinogens and is porous and water-soluble, with a means which, while stirring chaff, etc., in the temperature range 500°C-700°C, introduces, into a furnace, air in an amount by mass that is 6.7-20 times the amount of the chaff, etc., by weight, or oxygen gas in the amount of 1.4-4 times the weight of the chaff, etc., or a gaseous mixture of air and oxygen (the mixing ratio being within the aforementioned range), and at the same time as combustion, discharges, from the furnace, part of the dry distillation gas generated during the pyrolysis of the chaff, etc., to obtain the combusted product of the chaff, etc. |
