PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent falling of a medium.SOLUTION: A medium paper feeder includes: a medium placement part for placing a medium; a first medium guide part which is attached to the medium placement part so as to rotate around a first rotary shaft extending in a direction perpendicular to a paper feeding direction of the medium and restricts an upstream end of the medium in the paper feeding direction; and a restriction part which restricts rotation of the first medium guide part in a direction opposite to the paper feeding direction.
