PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an automatic transmission capable of increasing the number of gear positions while avoiding an increase in axial dimensions.SOLUTION: Three clutches 31 to 33 are disposed on the same axial center to radially overlap one another. A common rotational member 5 including a wall 5x formed along a flat surface orthogonal to the axial center and shared among the three clutches 31 to 33 is disposed at a predetermined axial position. The common rotational member 5 supports pistons 31p to 33p of the three respective clutches 31 to 33 and constituent members 31k to 33k of centrifugal balance chambers 31j to 33j opposite to hydraulic chambers 31a to 33a across the pistons 31p to 33p so as to be disposed to radially overlap one another. The centrifugal balance chamber constituent members 31k and 32k each include an axial extension and a radial extension and the axial extension is connected to the wall 5x of the common rotational member 5. The pistons 31p and 32p are accommodated in an accommodation space defined by the centrifugal balance chamber constituent members 31k and 32k and the wall 5x of the common rotational member 5 so as to be axially movable. |
