Provided are a method and apparatus for switching a device mode by detecting a WiFi signal. The method comprises the following steps: step 1: taking an MAC address as a WiFi terminal recognition identification, setting an authorized WiFi device list; step 2: detecting, by a detection module, whether there is access of a wireless terminal around after a WiFi device enters a normal operating mode; step 3: if the existence of the wireless terminal or a wireless authorized terminal is detected, then the WiFi device working normally, and continuously detecting a wireless access state; and step 4: if the access of a wireless client is not detected within 1-30 minutes, switching off, by a control module, a wireless transmitting unit, retaining a wireless receiving unit, and entering a low-power-consumption state. The apparatus comprises a detection module, an authorization module, a storage module, a control module, a transmitting unit and a receiving unit. By means of the present invention, the AP device is switched to an energy-saving mode in the case where no authorized user is detected by a wireless access point (AP) in an operating environment. |
