PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ink jet recording device capable of selectively discharging large liquid droplets and small liquid droplets having the same degree of droplet speed from the same nozzle by setting pulse width of a drive waveform for the large liquid droplets and the small liquid droplets, respectively.SOLUTION: Means for generating a driving signal which generates at least one drive waveform for discharging ink droplets can generate two kinds of the drive waveforms of a large liquid droplet waveform PA and a small liquid droplet waveform PB. The large liquid droplet waveform includes an expansion pulse Pa1 for expanding volume of a pressure chamber and a contraction pulse Pa2 for contracting the volume of the pressure chamber, and expansion pulse width of the large liquid droplet waveform is 2.8 AL or more and 3.4 AL or less when a half of an acoustic resonance period of a pressure wave in a pressure generating chamber is expressed by AL. The small liquid droplet waveform includes an expansion pulse Pb1 for expanding the volume of the pressure chamber, an idle period Pb3 and a contraction pulse Pb2 for contracting the volume of the pressure chamber, and expansion pulse width of the small liquid droplet waveform is 0.8 AL or more and 1.2 AL or less. |
