Metal pipes and tubes.-A tubular metallic golf shaft has a longitudinal section of conoidal form, that is having an arcuate taper as distinguished from a uniform taper, for obtaining greater flexibility of the shaft. Fig. 2 shows a central conoidal formed portion a merging at its upper end into a handle part a<2> of uniform bore, and at its lower end into a part a<1> of uniform bore. The portion a<1> may be tapered to fecilitate attachment of a club head or it may be dispensed with when the parts a, a<2> are relatively proportioned for individual requirements. The shaft may be made by rolling down a tube of the size of a<2>.</p> |
