The method involves generating a data record for an article, and storing the data record in a data memory. A feature value vector is generated during decision-making process. The feature value vector is stored as a part of the data record. A value of the feature value vector is assumed by a predefined optically detectable feature for an article if a surface of the article is provided with an optically detectable element during measurement. A computer-accessible article image evaluated for renewed measurement is generated from the article provided with the optically detectable element. An independent claim is also included for an arrangement for transferring an article to a target point.
