The present invention relates to a mold supporting apparatus which supports a cylindrical mold in a vertical direction and a mold supporting method and, more specifically, to a mold supporting apparatus which supports a cylindrical mold in a vertical direction to prevent a sag phenomenon occurring at the time of horizontal holding and a mold supporting method. A mold supporting apparatus according to an aspect of the present invention supports a mold including a mold body provided in a hollowed cylinder shape and coupling portions provided at both ends of the mold body. The apparatus comprises: a support holder which is coupled to a lower coupling portion of a mold and supports the mold in a vertical direction to prevent a sag phenomenon occurring when the mold is placed in a horizontal direction; a correction holder which is coupled to an the upper coupling portion of the mold; a sensor which detects a the length of the mold deformed due to a the weight of the mold placed in the vertical direction; and a lifting driving unit which lifts the correction holder to adjust the length of the mold to the original length on the basis of the detected length.
