The present invention relates to an x-ray imaging apparatus, wherein a front display returns to an original horizontal state to improve visibility when a photographing unit rotates, and to a controlling method thereof. According to one embodiment of the present invention, the x-ray imaging apparatus includes: a support unit; a photographing unit which is coupled to the front of the support unit to be rotated, and radiates x-rays; an operating unit which is provided on the front of the photographing unit to operate the photographing unit to be rotated; and a rotary panel which is coupled to the front of the operating unit. When the photographing unit rotates, the rotary panel rotates in the reverse direction of the photographing unit. |
