A programmable display unit comprises: a data collection unit including a data storage unit storing screen data as the basis for image data displayed on a touch monitor unit (20), and a data processing unit that acquires a device value of an external device and transmits the device value to the touch monitor unit (20); and the touch monitor unit (20) including a display unit (23), an input unit (22), a second data storage unit (25) storing the screen data, a general processing unit (24) that acquires the screen data from the data collection unit on the basis of an instruction from an operator via the input unit (22) and that stores the data in the second data storage unit (25), and a display generation unit (26) that generates the image data from the screen data acquired from the second data storage unit (25) and the device value acquired from the data collection unit and that displays the image data on the display unit (23), the data collection unit and the touch monitor unit (20) being separately provided, wherein the data collection unit and the touch monitor unit (20) are connected via a transmission path, and the general processing unit (24) of the touch monitor unit (20) updates, while the image data is being displayed, the image data using update information of the device value acquired from the data collection unit via the transmission path. |
