A refrigerator (1) comprises: a storage compartment at least divided into a refrigeration compartment (3) and freezing compartments (4, 5, 6); a cooler (32) for cooling the air supplied to the storage compartment; a cooling room (13) for containing the cooler (32); air supplying paths (14, 15, 16) for connecting the cooling room (13) and the storage compartment; a blower (30) for sending the air cooled by the cooler (32) to the air supplying paths (14, 15, 16) from the cooling room (13); a first air path shutter (18) and a second air path shutter (19) provided in the air supplying paths (14, 15, 16) which are respectively communicated with the refrigeration compartment and freezing compartments; and a third air path shutter (20) via which the air supplying paths (14, 15, 16) are communicated with the cooling room (13), so that the air sent by the blower (30) returns to the cooling room (13) through the air supplying paths (14, 15, 16). In the case that the first and second air path shutters (18, 19) are closed and the third air path shutter (20) is opened, a precooling operation is performed to circulate and cool the air between the cooling room (13) and the air supplying paths (14, 15, 16). Then in the case that the first and second air path shutters (18, 19) are opened and the third air path shutter (20) is closed, the refrigeration compartment (3) and freezing compartments (4, 5, 6) are cooled at the same time by supplying the air cooled by the cooler (32) thereto. |
