<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a multi-core optical fiber which is suitable for observation by eyes of a human being, and hard to generate the fatigue of eyes. <P>SOLUTION: A multi-core bare optical fiber 1 has a plurality of cores 11; and a sheath layer 12 formed on an outer periphery of the plurality of the cores 11 so as to coat that. The multi-core bare optical fiber 1 has at least a center area A1, and an outer peripheral area A2 formed on the outside of the center area A1, on an end cross section in a cross-sectional view in a direction orthogonal to an axial direction of the multi-core bare optical fiber 1. The outer peripheral area A2 is disposed generally concentrically with the center area A1. The sum total of cross sections of the cores 11 disposed in the outer peripheral area A2 is larger than the sum total of cross sections of the core 11 disposed in the center area A1. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT</p> |
