PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a mechanism that can easily perform grouping of image forming apparatuses on the basis of information obtained from a client device for printing.SOLUTION: There is provided an image forming system including image forming apparatuses and a client device, the image forming system storing identification information on one of the image forming apparatuses that is a transmission destination of print data in the client device, transmitting the print data to the image forming apparatus, and transmitting the stored identification information to the image forming apparatus to which the print data has been transmitted. The image forming apparatus receives the identification information in the client device that is a transmission source of the received print data and groups the plurality of image forming apparatuses specified in the received identification information.
