<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of producing cyclohexanone, by which the cyclohexanone can be manufactured with high efficiency and good selectivity when cyclohexane is oxidized by using a cobalt catalyst. <P>SOLUTION: The method of producing the cyclohexanone includes: bringing the cyclohexane into contact with oxygen or an oxygen-containing gas; and oxidizing a cobalt compound as a catalyst.
