<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid absorption member for immunochromatography, which can control a flow velocity and which has improved detection sensitivity. <P>SOLUTION: The liquid absorption member includes: a carrier 1 having grooves 10 along a first direction x; antibodies 4 fixed on surfaces of the grooves 10; and an absorber 2 arranged on the grooves 10.
