PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To generate a light field image of which the angle of view is widened, from a plurality of light field images and to acquire light ray information corresponding to the angle of view.SOLUTION: An image generation device is configured to generate a new light field image from a plurality of light field images including a plurality of microlens images obtained by capturing an optical image of a subject which is formed by a main lens, while using a plurality of microlenses. The image generation device includes: an epipolar image conversion section for generating a plurality of epipolar images from each light field image; an epipolar image coupling section which defines any one light field image selected from among the light field images as a reference image and couples the epipolar image of the other light field image to the epipolar image of the reference image, thereby generating a coupled epipolar image; and an image generation section for generating a new light field image from the coupled epipolar image. |
