PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problems in which: in a conventional casting apparatus, heat extraction from a core pin protruding in a cavity causes partial temperature drop of molten metal, thereby causing a risk of filling failure of the molten metal.SOLUTION: A casting apparatus comprises: a mold 2 in which a cavity 3 is formed between an upper mold 2U and a lower mold 2L that are vertically movable to open and close; and a sprue sand mold 4 in which a sprue 4A communicated with the cavity 3 is formed. The sprue sand mold 4 is upwardly separable from the lower mold 2L, a burr formation space 16 is formed to form a burr B between a top face of the sprue sand mold and a bottom face of the upper mold, and a molten metal passage 4C is provided reaching from the sprue 4A to the burr formation space 16 so that partial temperature drop of the molten metal and filling failure of the molten metal is prevented during casting while the upper mold 2U includes a function holding a cast product. |
