PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To remove a power generation inhibitor from a fuel cell stack and an anode off-gas pipe, by using a simpler configuration.SOLUTION: A fuel cell system 1 comprises: a fuel cell stack 10; a buffer tank 60 that stores a purge gas from an anode off-gas pipe 36 and is elastically expandable/contractable; a purge gas introduction pipe 64 connecting the anode off-gas pipe 36 with the buffer tank 60 through a purge gas introduction valve 61; a diluter 49 that is disposed in a cathode off-gas pipe 46 and mixes a cathode off-gas with a purge gas to lower a hydrogen concentration of a discharge gas; and a purge gas discharge pipe 65 connecting the buffer tank 60 with the diluter 49 through a purge gas discharge valve 62. When the discharge valve 62 is closed and the introduction valve 61 is opened, the purge gas flows into the buffer tank 60 to elastically expand the buffer tank 60; when the introduction valve 61 is closed and the discharge valve 62 is opened, the buffer tank 60 elastically contracts to make the purge gas flow out to the diluter 49. |
