<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inkjet recording apparatus that can sufficiently secure the time for reading an inspection image for inspecting an ink ejection state of a recording head without deteriorating recording speed and can reliably inspect the ink ejection state, and to provide an inkjet recording method. <P>SOLUTION: In the inkjet recording apparatus, a third conveying path 110 for a recording medium on which the inspection image for inspecting the ink ejection state of the recording head 102 is recorded, is separated from a first conveying path 103 for a recording medium passing through a recording position of the recording head 102.
