<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a water closet capable of adequately cleaning a lavatory bowl even with a small amount of washing water. <P>SOLUTION: A water closet 1 comprises: a water storage tank 2 for storing washing water therein; a bowl part 8 provided with a dirt receiving surface 14 and a rim part 16; a drain channel 12 for discharging dirt by siphon action; a rim water ejection port 20 that is provided at a position of the rim part arranged so as to correspond to a lateral side of the bowl part; a jet water ejection port 22 for ejecting washing water toward an inlet of the drain channel 12; a rim water channel 24 for introducing washing water to the rim water ejection port; a jet water channel 26 for introducing washing water to the jet water ejection port; and a water splitting room 10 for splitting washing water into the rim water channel and the jet water channel.
