<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing a thin sheet-shaped SiC/Al-based composite material, in which a risk of the presence of a void is reduced and manufacturing cost is inexpensive. <P>SOLUTION: The method for manufacturing the thin sheet-shaped SiC/Al-based composite material, includes the steps of: adding SiC powder and 1-3 wt.% Mg based on molten Al, to the molten Al to produce molten metal M; casting the molten metal M to form an intermediate sheet C; and thinning the intermediate sheet C by hot forging of the intermediate sheet with a pressurizing force of 1 MPa or less to form the thin sheet having a thickness of 2 mm or less. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT</p> |
