PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image processing apparatus which allows effective use of a refocus possible range.SOLUTION: The image processing apparatus for refocus processing comprises: localization means (111b) for localizing a first focal position; acquisition means (105) for acquiring refocus range setting information including the first focal position in a refocus possible range; and calculation means (105) for calculating a second focal position so that the refocus possible range with respect to the first focal position becomes a refocus possible range based on the refocus range setting information.
