PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an embedded magnet type rotor capable of improving assembly work efficiency, and a manufacturing method of the embedded magnet type rotor.SOLUTION: A columnar rotor core 21 includes: four magnet insertion holes 31 annularly arranged side by side; four wedge insertion holes 33a corresponding to the magnet insertion holes 31 at the outside relative to the arrangement of the magnet insertion holes 31; and four wedge insertion holes 33b corresponding to the magnet insertion holes 31 at the inside relative to the arrangement of the magnet insertion holes 31. In the four magnet insertion holes 31, four pairs of permanent magnets 22a and 22b are inserted, each pair including two permanent magnets. In the two inner and outer wedge insertion holes 33a and 33b corresponding to the magnet insertion holes 31, arms 42 and 43 of a first wedge 41 and arms 52 and 53 of a second wedge 51 are inserted from mutually opposite sides in an axial direction of the rotor core 21. The magnet insertion holes 31 are narrowed with elastic deformation of the rotor core 21, such that each pair of permanent magnets 22a and 22b are fixed within each magnet insertion hole 31. |
