PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a range-finding technique capable of reducing a parallax amount calculation error caused by the fact that the direction of an image deviation is oblique by simple arithmetic.SOLUTION: A parallax amount calculation device includes a parallax amount calculation part which calculates a first parallax amount which is a relative positional deviation amount between first image data corresponding to a luminous flux after passing through a first pupil area in the exit pupil of an image formation optical system and second image data corresponding to the luminous flux after passing through a second pupil area in the exit pupil on the basis of the first image data and the second image data. The second pupil area is the partial area of the first pupil area.
