PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fermentative process for producing arginine, in which sugars obtained by enzymatic hydrolysis of cheap starch-containing agricultural wastes such as cassava bagasse and jackfruit seed powder are fermented in the presence of a microorganism, and arginine is collected from the fermentation liquid.SOLUTION: Provided is a method for producing arginine by fermentation of agriculture wastes comprising the steps of: subjecting an agricultural waste to fermentation in the presence of at least one of Corynebacterium glutamicum ATCC21831 and Corynebacterium glutamicum ATCC21493 to produce a fermentation liquid containing arginine; and recovering the arginine from the fermentation liquid.
