A liquid crystal display device according to an embodiment of the present invention includes a first substrate; a pixel electrode formed on the first substrate and comprising a first subpixel electrode and a second subpixel electrode which are separated from each other; a second substrate facing the first substrate; a common electrode formed on the second substrate; and a liquid crystal layer placed between the first substrate and the second substrate. The first subpixel electrode includes a first plate part and a plurality of first branch electrodes extended from the first plate part. The second subpixel electrode includes a second plate part formed to surround the first branch electrodes and a plurality of second branch electrodes extended from the second plate part.
