[Class 12 (i).] In a vehicle-axle bearing which is lubricated by lubricant which drips from edges 5 on to the journal 4, the bearing brass 2 is made of a copper alloy which rests directly on the journal. The brass 2 has an iron or steel strengthening shell 1, the adjacent faces of the brass and shell having interengaging grooves or tongues.
