Various compounds, compositions, and methods for binding to β-amyloid plaque and norepinephrine transporters are presented. Especially preferred compounds include those with a PET-detectable label.

A compound having a structure according to Formula I: wherein X is CH or N, wherein Y is CH or N, or wherein X and Y together are C(O)NH, and wherein Z is CH or N; wherein R1 is NR3R4; and wherein R2 is NHR4; wherein R3 is a C(O)-fluoroalkyl, and —R4 is a lower alkyl; and wherein fluoroalkyl is selected form the group consisting of (CH2)nCH2F and (CH2)nCH218F, and n is an integer between 1 and 6.
