PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method that detects events in a signal subject to cyclostationary background noise.SOLUTION: A method is configured to detect events 151 in an acoustic signal 101 subject to cyclostationary background noise by first segmenting 110 the signal 101 into cycles. Features 121 with a fixed dimension are derived from the cycles 111, such that timing of the features is relative to a cycle time. The features 121 are normalized 130 using an estimate value 125 of the cyclostationary background noise. Then, after the normalizing 130, a classifier is applied to the features to detect the events 151. |
