The present invention relates to an around view monitoring apparatus, comprising: a plurality of cameras generating a series of multiple images by individually photographing surroundings of an operation vehicle at a plurality of points of time; an operation environment view providing unit providing a series of operation environment views having a series of around views generated on the basis of at least two images of the series of multiple images or the series of multiple images; and a pedestrian recognition unit detecting a moving individual based on the series of operation environment views, and determining whether the detected moving individual corresponds to a pedestrian in case the detected moving individual is being moved or stopped for a while. Therefore, a pedestrian can be recognized around the operation vehicle.
