PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide: an optical device that is used for an image projection apparatus and can display high-quality videos with a simple configuration; an image projection apparatus that includes the optical device and can display high-quality videos; and electronic equipment that includes the image projection apparatus and can display high-quality videos.SOLUTION: An optical device includes: a light guide plate 21; a transmissive first diffraction element 31 that is provided on a first surface 21a of the light guide plate 21 and diffracts and takes out at least a part of light guided inside the light guide plate 21; a transmissive second diffraction element 32 that is provided on the first surface 21a of the light guide plate 21 and diffracts at least a part of light directed to the light guide plate 21; and a reflective third diffraction element 33 that is provided on a second surface 21b which is a surface on the opposite side of the first surface 21a of the light guide plate 21, and diffracts at least a part of light made incident on the inside of the light guide plate 21 through the second diffraction element 32.
