PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an internal combustion engine with an oil pump disposed within an oil pan, capable of facilitating attachment and detachment of the oil pan and the oil pump.SOLUTION: An oil pump 8 is fixed to a ladder frame 5 constituting a cylinder block 1 by a bolt. A discharge port 21 of the oil pump 8 is open downward, and the discharge port 21 of the oil pump 8 automatically communicates with an inlet 22 of an oil passage 23 when an oil pan 2 is fixed to the cylinder block 1. An oil filter 29, an oil cooler 30, and the like can be attached to the oil pan 2. The oil pan 2 can be easily replaced independently of the oil pump 8. Since the oil pump 8 can be attached or detached in a state in which the oil pan 2 is detached, it is possible to facilitate attaching/detaching a chain 14. |
