PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve a problem that overhead of unnecessary systems in the network and reduction of system processing capability are caused by a pause timer.SOLUTION: The invention belongs to the technical field of communication, and provides method, device for controlling a pause timer and a communication system. The pause timer is adjusted dynamically by monitoring the resource occupancy of the communication system. The threshold time of the pause timer is inversely proportional to the resource occupancy. Consequently, when the system occupancy is low, user experience can be enhanced by setting the threshold time of the pause timer relatively long. When the system occupancy is high, a higher processing capability is provided by setting the threshold time of the pause timer relatively short, thus providing services for more users. The invention is applicable to all system using the pause timer. |
